Coyotes sign goalie Morrison
Goalie Mike Morrison signed a one-year contract Sunday with the Phoenix Coyotes after playing 25 games last season for Edmonton and Ottawa.
Morrison goalie posted a 11-4-3 record in his first year in the NHL. He had a 2.95 goals-against average and .882 save percentage.
Morrison's signing came a day after Ed Jovanovski agreed to a five-year deal with the Coyotes as part of the team's effort to upgrade its defense.
After 20 games with the Oilers, Morrison became expendable in Edmonton after the Oilers traded for Dwayne Roloson. Ottawa, looking for insurance while Dominik Hasek recovered from a groin injury, claimed Morrison off waivers.
